Stage Combat
No Classes Currently Scheduled
In this two hour workshop we will be putting together an unarmed fight scene. The goal is to prepare actors for a fight audition and/or a fight scene in a show. As the fight is constructed and rehearsed we will go over the basic unarmed techniques focusing strongly on safety first.
The actors should leave with a basic understanding of how a fight is constructed, how to operate safely in a fight, what their movement capabilities and limitations are, and have a basic understanding of the language of fights so they can feel comfortable in an audition and more focused in a rehearsal.

Fencing
No Classes Currently Scheduled
In this class we will be introduced to the specific footwork involved in fencing which includes correct body posture, foot placement, and general balance. Each student will gain sabre bladework knowledge through the controlled hand/arm movements of attacking and defending. The combination of these skills in interactive drills will be the basis for the last part of the class...bouting! Here, we will discover the best tactics for scoring and defeating the opponent. For the class, it is recommended that each student wear sweatpants, flat-soled shoes, bring a water bottle and an extra t-shirt. En garde!
