Arabic Drumming: This 6 week course will help participants develop skills with middle eastern percussion. From basics to dance accompaniment, the class will be taught on a variety of authentic drums.

Week 1 Introduction to Darbooka
Weeks 2-3 Basic beats
Weeks 4-5 Accompaniment skills
Week 6 Introduction to Duff

Play Oriental Dance Percussion Music ! Easy to learn and fun to play! Use your hands and fingers to create and ornament Rhythms. Accessible on many levels this music has entertained the ancients and is still enjoyed today by people all across the globe. Quentin Shaw's percussion studies have taken him on a many journeys. His early lessons with top players of Tunisian darbooka and Pakistani tabla, motivated him to take frequent study trips to Morocco to learn about other kinds of percussion. He has performed and taught internationally over the past 13 years. Quentin is also an accomplished drum-maker, currently working with hammer-raised steel forms, blacksmithing techniques, and natural skins.
