For Immediate Release: The Galaxie
was featured on WGN's Around Town segment on January
2, 2008.
The
Around Town segment, airing on the WGN Morning
News, regularly features organizations and activities
currently happening within the Chicagoland region.
Since 1994, the WGN Morning News has provided
communities around Chicago with a highly successful
and innovative morning news hour. The segment
featuring The Galaxie included information related
to many of the activities and events going on
every day at 2603 West Barry in the Logan Square
neighborhood of Chicago.
The Galaxie was brought to life in order to create an environment that provides working artists and students of the arts an opportunity to inspire, and become inspired, by varied forms of expression. A well-rounded and versatile life thrives on a strong body and a creative mind. Music, movement, fine art, and other forms of expression are key elements in maximizing such a life. The Galaxie's goal is to bring these forms of expression to a central place and invite all to participate. Home
to a dynamic conglomeration of inspired
and inventive minds, since its inception,
The Galaxie has redefined the conceptions
of creative space in Chicago. The
vision of The Galaxie's proprietor, Nicolle
Wood, is to build a cooperative and cross
discipline atmosphere involving artists
of every kind. By creating well designed
and unique architectural spaces, while maintaining
the urban industrial roots of the 11, 000
Sq ft venue, the class rooms, studios and
office spaces are beautiful crossover
areas for all forms of expression.
In addition to offering dance, movement,
and fine art classes of all kinds, The Galaxie
routinely hosts creativity building seminars
and community inspiring events. |
